Ella failed her Maths exam four times.  This prevented her from taking up a place to study Drama at a London university.  Her confidence was in pieces and she envisioned a life consisting of poorly paid work watching her friends move away to study and lead exciting new lives.

We helped Ella

  • believe she could achieve after failing again and again and again
  • work on a one to one basis with a volunteer tutor for 2 hours every week for 8 months
  • pass her Level 2 Maths Functional Skills exam (GCSE equivalent)
  • fulfil her university dreams

She is now living and enjoying student life in London.

We offer free tuition and examination entry to all young people between 16 and 25 and every year work with over 20 young people who have struggled at school.

If you would like to know more then please get in touch with Julie Bartle.

We receive no statutory funding for the work we do and welcome donations to help us change young people’s lives through learning.   You can make a donation online, by cheque or in person.  Find out more here.
