We’re a YIACS – it’s official!

Acronyms come and go – in the past we’ve been an AIG centre (Advice, Information and Guidance) and then an A&I centre (Advice and Information) when there were legal connotations and responsibilities to the use of the term ‘Guidance’.

But, whatever the acronym, we have always put young people at the heart of what we do, recognising them as individuals in unique circumstances in order to create an individual response to their needs.  It’s because of that changing need that we’ve added Counselling to our range of services and that means we’ve officially joined the rank of YIACS (Youth Information Advice and Counselling Service) and we are proud to have joined Youth Access, the national network of YIACs which will give us access to more information and good practice we can benefit from.
