This May Bank Holiday we took a stand at the annual Sherborne Castle Country Fair to promote our work and have a bit of fun.
It is always a friendly and social event and we enjoyed being stationed next to our old friends from Future Roots who were doing a tremendous job selling raffle tickets to win a vintage tractor.
Meanwhile, our own talented colleague, Julie Bartle, had created two beautiful boards for a fundraising activity aimed at children. It seemed a shame to cover them with stickers in order to guess where Tigger was hiding in a map of Pooh Corner and Freddie the Frog was hiding under lilypads but it had to be done and two lucky children are now the proud owners of an 8ft trampoline each kindly donated by the Toy Barn.
Since 1996 the annual Sherborne Castle Country Fair have raised a phenomenal £1.25m for Dorset charities working with children and young people. They have supported us since the begininng and we can’t thank them enough for their generosity and the hard work that the Fair committee and their volunteers put in to make the event such a great success for everyone.
