UPDATE: This project with CAMHS and the Dorset Mental Health Forum has now formally ended but we are continuing to build on the things we learn and run our own targetted small group work focussing on mental health.

We’re working with CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and the Dorset Mental Health Forum to pilot an 8-week small group project in Sherborne to reduce anxiety.

Young people who were isolated and fearful are interacting confidently with others, understanding their anxiety and recognising they are not alone. Everyone is learning a lot whilst having fun in a safe space and parents are amazed by the transformation they see in their sons and daughters.

The project runs every week on Thursdays from 4 – 6 and is by invitation only.  If you would like to be part of the group or would like to refer someone then get in touch.

We are keen to find ways of funding the project to continue and grow. Do get in touch if you think you can help.

Please note that during lockdown this group is meeting via zoom.

The project forms part of the larger Dorset Discovery Project which is a partnership initiative from Dorset HealthCare and Dorset Mental Health Forum. It combines the expertise of NHS Healthcare Professionals, the lived experience of Peer Specialists and the voice of Young People to create spaces to explore and share what mental health, recovery, and wellbeing means by looking at what matters to them.
