We’re busy getting the centre ready for September and a whole “new normal.”
The growth in demand for one-to-one support sessions and for English and Maths tuition combined with the Covid situation means that space at the Rendezvous has become a real problem.
We never want to be in the position where we turn young people away simply because we don’t have the space to meet so to resolve this we are planning some small internal remodelling. This will increase the amount of usable space available to work with young people.
Plus, after a year of covid-19 restrictions which meant we had to remove most of our furniture and decorations, the centre is looking rather bleak so we’re also planning a big tidy-up and looking forward to bringing it back to life.
The first phase of the work will take place in August. We are extremely grateful to Sherborne Town Council for awarding us a £1000 covid-recovery grant towards the cost of the work which is estimated to be in the region of £4,800.
