Our Media Makers 2 team in Gillingham are having a blast working with film makers, Marianne King and Julian Bishop, to create their own newsreels, using a mix of location filming and multi-camera studio shoots.

The students, aged between 14-19, have had the chance to try all aspects of production and then spend more time on the thing they like best which includes news presenting in front of the camera, filming, editing, scripting and directing.
Young people from our Media Makers 1 group who took part in the filmed consultation project in the summer have stayed on as Media Maker Leads to support those with less experience.

This project is part of the Gillingham Youth Collective project, our National Lottery Community Fund project that is working in collaboration with Gillingham Youth Club who are delivering a Young Leaders programme.
