Grant-givers and Classic Cars help fuel our learning programme

News

Funding for our learning programme was boosted this week with financial support from two organisations.

The annual Classics and Supercar show and the Woodroffe Benton Foundation have both awarded us grants of £2,000.

The car show held this summer in the grounds of Sherborne Castles is run by the Rotary, Lions and Round Table groups from across the area who come together to organise the day. It really is a huge undertaking, done completely voluntarily with the aim of giving people a great day out and raising money for charities – they do both very well!

The Woodroffe Benton Foundation are a grant-giving body made up of people who, much like the Rotary, Lions and Round Table, give up their time voluntarily to manage and distribute funds for charitable purposes. We are extremely grateful to them for their support.

The funding will be used to help young people (13-25) gain the qualifications, self-confidence and support they need to move back into school or college, find work or join an apprenticeship.

PS: next year’s car show is Sunday 21 July, 2024!
