This national Volunteers’ Week (Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th June) we want to shine a light on the incredible individuals who give their time, energy, and expertise to help change young people’s lives—day by day, step by step.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We simply couldn’t do what we do without our amazing team of volunteers. From one-to-one support to building confidence and brighter futures, or working tirelessly behind the scenes on admin tasks or raising funds for us, their impact is huge. Many of our volunteer tutors have been with us for over 10 years, bringing a wealth of experience and care to every session.
There are many ways to get involved:
– Volunteer as a tutor or wellbeing coach
– Join our admin or fundraising teams who have fun getting out and about in the community whilst raising essential funds for the charity
– Or help out occasionally—every bit makes a difference!
Volunteers in Action – Career Support in Sherborne
As part of National Interview Month 2025, our Sherborne team ran a fantastic four-week career preparation programme, led by Kate Reynold and Helen Devonshire and supported by our dedicated volunteer tutors.
Sessions included:
- CV writing
- Mock interviews
- Workplace behaviour
- Money management
Local businesses and colleges joined forces with our team, and the 28 learners who took part told us how much they valued the supportive environment and focus on career readiness. Volunteers played a key role—as interviewers, CV advisors, and career mentors—helping young people build confidence and prepare for the future.
Catch us on Facebook to find out about more ways our volunteers make a difference.
