Please note: our Sherborne centre continues to be closed to drop-in visitors due to the COVID restrictions but our services are available by phone/online. There is a limited face to face service and Young Parents Group sessions are running in both Sherborne and Gillingham but with restricted numbers.
We look forward to reopening when it’s safe to do so.
Our centre under Cheap Street Church in Sherborne is the heart of the organisation and the home of the Rendezvous. It’s the team’s base, where most of our learning sessions happen and a lot of our projects and one to one support take place too.
The centre has lots of facilities – there’s a coffee bar area, a small recording suite and laptops and a computer room and now, thanks to the SAST IT department and Dorset Community Foundation, we have good wifi throughout the building.
Not all our activities are based at the centre and we also have other special projects happening in town.
Our work in Gillingham started with our outreach project in the streets and parks in 2017. Although we don’t have our own space in Gillingham we’ve had a warm welcome from various organisations in the town and are particularly grateful to the Town Council who have kindly allowed us to use the small community hub as a base for our outreach and film work and the new Thrive CIC who have facilitated our Young Parents’ Support Group move from the leisure centre to the Gillingham Youth Club. You’ll also find our outreach team in and around Hardings Park.
We also run special projects. Here’s what’s happening in Gillingham…
Our Yeovil learning programme has launched and is based at the Samaritans building, Morley House, West Hendford BA20 1XE.
Our work in Shaftesbury is street-based and so we don’t have a physical base to work from. But as time goes on this may change as our work develops – so watch this space.
