Szy’s story

Szy is a care leaver who didn’t get a Maths qualification whilst he was at school. At 22 he was very aware that not having his Maths GCSE was holding him back in life.

Oliver’s home environment was difficult. Both his parents struggled with poor mental health.  He started missing school and rarely left the house becoming increasingly anxious and socially isolated.

Georgia’s situation

Georgia had a difficult childhood and suffered very low self-esteem.  At 17, she was living in supported accommodation in Yeovil under the care of the Local Authority and with the support of the social services team working with young people in danger of exploitation.  She was only 17.
